Experience API (xAPI)
Also known as Tin Can API, xAPI is a technical specification for learning technology that allows learning experiences to be tracked and recorded in a consistent format across different systems and contexts, including informal and experiential learning outside of a traditional LMS.
It's a modern standard that allows all kinds of learning activities—even informal ones like reading an article or playing a game—to be tracked and recorded.
Unlike older standards that mainly track formal courses in an LMS, xAPI can track learning from almost anywhere, providing a richer picture of a learner's journey.
